Cheap Sunnies

I met up with some friends for dinner last night and was surprised to find that almost all of them had decided to try ventures to earn them extra income above their monthly salary. Some of them were starting to earn a lot from their part-time ventures and tried to convince me to join them. One of them was selling replica Sunglasses at a very reasonable price. The replicas are so good and so closely resembled the genuine branded ones that lots of people didn’t mind paying a huge discount for the replicas.

According to her, she had found a very reliable Wholesale Sunglasses who sold her the sunglasses online in a nicely packaged box that could be opened, ready for display. They don’t print their name on the box either so her customers and competitors could never find out who her supplier was. I was pretty interested and will be finding out more from her next month. Any extra income is good!

Options trading

I’m terrible at investing. I never know what stocks to buy or when the best time to enter the market is. Recently I met a friend who had earned a lot of money on options trading. He was driving a brand new swanky Mercedes and was decked out with the latest designer watch. I was pretty surprised as he used to be working as a normal finance executive with just a basic pay. Curious to find out more, I learnt that he invested mainly with OEXpotions.com which provides a complete service with daily alerts on trading on index options.

It’s day trading options alert provides a daily signal for which indexes are the best to track or buy. With OEX, investors can opt for trading options instead of punting on the individual stock which makes it a lot less risky. This requires less capital and provides you greater reward but at a greater risk compared to buying equity. The secret of OEX is that they don’t simply tell you what to trade but actually teach you the strategy and gameplan behind online option trading. I came away from that conversation greatly impressed with how much he had earned. However, I think it’s perhaps too complicated for me!

Easy Booking

Do you love going for vacations? I do but sometimes I find the cost of accommodation there quite a prohibitive factor. Trying to look for cheaper accommodation at times ends up with some really horrible hotels or motels which looked really nice on their sites. So I was quite happy to come across a worldwide vacation rentals site where I can get reasonably priced vacation rentals which are still nice to live in.

Sites like these bring together the traveler and owner or manager of the accommodation in a very convenient manner. The owner or manager can list their vacation rentals on the site while the traveler can liaise directly with them to find out more or to book their accommodation. This takes away the additional cost of the middleman which means cheaper costs for the traveler and bigger profits for the owner. Some nice rentals I saw on their site included Daytona vacation rentals and Myrtle vacation rentals which range from condos, homes and villas to resort hotels at very reasonable prices.

So do your research before you travel. You might end up saving more than you originally thought!

Ozzie Ozzie Oy Oy Oy!

It’s been many years since I’ve been back to Australia where I used to study. My last trip there was at least 5 years ago when we did a fantastic tour of the Outback together with Ayers Rock. Bro and I extended our holiday to include a few days with friends in Melbourne and were really lucky to find cheap Melbourne Accommodation which wasn’t too far from the city and the good restaurants.

Dad too has recently been talking about going back to Australia for a holiday. He likes the great food and the relaxing atmosphere there and suggested that we try a different city for a change this time, like Perth or Adelaide. He asked me to research the prices of Hotels in Perth and Hotels in Adelaide to see which could give us a better deal. I found the Hotels in Perth cheaper and found that we could get fantastic serviced apartments for a price lower than what hotels were offering.

So it looks like we’re off Down Under again soon! Yippee!

Independent Travel

Traveling is one of my favourite hobbies. When I first started working, I told myself I would take at least one overseas holiday a year simply to unwind and recuperate. Well, over the years, the once a year holiday has become at least 2-3 holidays, depending on what offers we can get! Although I love travel, I hate going on guided tours where you’re lead around like cattle, up early in the morning only to return late at night. I love to take my own time to explore the place, experience the local culture and best of all, taste all the local delicacies.

Because I enjoy independent travel, I’m pretty reliant on the reviews and feedback I get from travel blogs. One of my favourite blog is HotelClub which always has the latest travel and hotel news from around the world. Their stories, photos and recommendations never fail to tempt me whether it be the Top Five Underwater Hotels in the world or simply the Best European Food Experience!

What I like too is their great discounts on over 1,000 hotels all over the world. I tried their service during my recent trip to London and was pleased to get a room there for a very affordable rate that didn’t break my budget. So if you’re an intrepid and independent traveler, consult HotelClub before you travel. You’ll be sure to find something you like that you can afford.

Reducing Paper Costs

Amidst worldwide concerns of global warming and shrinking ice caps, many organizations today, especially multinational companies, have tried incorporating environmentally friendly practices in their workplace. I recently read of how many organizations have started cutting down paper usage by implementing BoxesOS, a portal software that promotes a paperless method of information storage, management and sharing.

It’s a great software that enables document management and content management of all sorts of information which is organized for easy retrieval and access by any user on the office intranet network. Information is delivered in the form of electronic mails, newsletters or RSS feeds directly to the relevant user which does away with the need for paper memos and printing charges. A wide range of organizations, ranging from the paper-intensive legal industry to healthcare, have turned to BoxesOS to help them manage their extensive files and information. While doing their bid for the environment, many of them have found that in the long run, they end up saving a lot more on paper and printing which works wonderfully for the company’s bottom line.

So if you would like to start taking a step into the right direction and towards cost savings, get a 30 day free trial from BoxesOS today!

Holiday in Maui

I’ve recently seen a lot of advertisements for Hawaii. There’s just something about that beautiful island in the middle of the deep blue Pacific that beckons to everyone. It’s more than just its beautiful beaches, soft white sand, lovely balmy weather or fantastic cuisine. It’s all these and more that keep visitors flocking to its shores again and again. Lots of affordable accommodation are now available to cater for this huge tourist demand from swanky hotels to Maui vacation homes, there’s something to suit everyone’s budget and holiday preferences!

With vacation homes smack on the beach, a few footsteps will take you to the warm waters for all kinds of water activities or to simply bum on the beach and soak up a tan. And when you’ve soaked up enough sun, head back for a sumptuous dinner of succulent seafood fresh from the sea.

Hawaii, there’s something for everyone with any kind of budget. Visit the Hawaiian Local Travel Blog to learn more!

Cheaper Real Estate

The recent subprime meltdown in the US had both its pros and cons. Lots of people lost money in the stock market but on the other hand, the meltdown pushed down the prices of properties that had been spiraling upwards for the past few years in an artificial inflation. I recently heard from a friend who purchased a Scottsdale real estate several thousand cheaper than its previous price simply because banks were tightening credit and in some cases, repossessing homes to auction them off. So if you do have the cash and don’t mind waiting, you might be able to pick up a home for a lot less than you thought now!

Cheap Souvenirs

In my previous job, I was in charge once of organizing a group-wide conference for our group of companies. Part of our job then was to source for cheap yet useful souvenirs of the conference. We were really lucky to find advertising pens which we managed to get for a really cheap price together with the engraving of the conference event on it. We figured that people will always end up using pens, whether by throwing it in their cars or handbags. At least it wouldn’t go to waste unlike other items such as badges, card holders or coasters. Plus, since the pens were so cheap, it saved us lots from our conference budget!

New Migraine Cure

I’ve always heard about how Botox promises to turn sagging skin into the tautness of young skin once again but did you know that some people actually use Botox for migraines?! Apparently Botox injections do relieve migraine symptoms although they are that little bit more expensive than popping an aspirin! So the next time you need a face lift and relief from your headache, head out to our plastic surgeon instead of the pharmacy! ;)

Saving money on life insurance

Its that time of the year when I scrounge around for cash to pay my life insurance policy. I bought this policy a while ago when I was younger. Many people say that there is no real need to purchase a life insurance policy when you are young or unmarried. However, if you don't then you may end up paying very high premiums when you do want to buy one later in life when you are married and have kids, because insurance premiums go up with age.

If you do want to buy a life insurance policy, try to shop around first for affordable policies. It is not impossible to find a cheap life insurance policy if life is all you are looking for. Many insurance agents try to tack on many add ons e.g. health or medical or an endowment policy, so they get higher commissions.

What this means for you is higher insurance premiums. So, before you buy a policy, shop around as you would anything else. A cheap term life insurance might just be around the corner.

Declutter Your Life

Do you have lots of junk lying around in your house? I do and when I recently cleared out my drawers, I was surprised to see how many free promotional pens I had collected from various hotels and conferences. Some of them aren’t too bad but some are really lousy and because I’d kept them for so long, most of them had dried out and couldn’t be used anymore. I’ll have to admit that it is very handy to have one of them in my bag at any time and having a free promotional pen beats having to pay for one anyday!

Caesars Palace

Have you ever been to Las Vegas? I remember how amazed we were when my aunt went to Las Vegas and came back with lots of tales of how beautiful Caesars Palace was. She told us about their fantastic ceiling which has clouds changing every now and then and their amazing buffet spreads. It seems like everyone goes to the hotel just to walk in its grounds and admire the beauty. I’ve also been told that it’s a popular place for shows and lots of great magicians such as David Copperfield and Siegfried & Roy have held many performances there. What a grand place in the city that never sleeps! I can’t wait to go see it myself. Although I may not be able to afford the hotel rates, at least I too can boast of having been to the famous Caesars Palace.

Luxury Homes Snapped Up

I like going to supermarkets to get my weekly celebrity gossip from the magazines stocked there while getting my groceries. Recently, I read about how Hollywood celebrities were snapping up Arizona luxury real estate like hot cakes. At a few million a house, they definitely do not come cheap but I guess for celebrities like them who have lots of cash to spare, it’s probably just another investment in their books. For me, I can’t even afford a luxury property here, what more in Arizona!

Have you considered a Marks & Spencer credit card?

Many years ago when I was studying in the UK, I remember an embarrassing moment at Marks & Spencer. I had forgotten that M&S was one of those archaic places that did not accept credit or debit cards. All they accepted were their own store cards. I had to creep away from the cashier and return all the goods because I had no cash.

Now, I find that Marks & Spencer has their own credit card with mastercard. They give 0% interest on shopping until 31 March 2008 and fee free balance transfers at just 5.9% p.a. for the life of the balance (with terms attached). This possibly makes it one of the Best Credit Cards in the market and especially so if you also buy stuff at Marks because you earn &More points too.

The
credit card application is easy. You can even apply for it online at Marks & Spencer. What's good is that they also have 0% interest for 2 years on Marks & Spencer furniture purchases instore over £1,000. Excellant money savings for anyone who needs to furnish their home. Who said credit cards don't help you save? :)

Family NZ Trip

I have relatives staying in Auckland who moved there a few years ago. They’ve been asking us to come visit them but we were always a little busy here. Recently though, my parents proposed taking a trip to New Zealand at the end of the year and asked me to start looking around for Hotels in Wellington and other parts of New Zealand. My uncle’s family who went recently told us there’s so much to do in both the North and South Island that we’ll need at least 3 weeks to fully enjoy ourselves! Apparently the sceneries are fantastic and the most beautiful urban panoramas can be found from the top of the mountains in Auckland, Wellington and Dunedin. He told us not to forget the glacier walk too which is a must-do as it can only be done in New Zealand and Switzerland.

I’ve also been told that Christchurch is a beautiful place not to be missed and Hotels in Christchurch were on my hotel list too. I was really happy to find very affordable hotels on CheaperThanHotels.co.nz. Their great prices meant that we will not be spending too much on accommodation. With their great prices, we could also consider booking Hotels in Auckland too instead of inconveniencing my relatives. I can’t wait for our family NZ holiday!

Yet Another UK Trip

I just found out that I may be going back London again next week for some work. Hopefully this time, we’ll get to stay in proper Hotels in London as opposed to my last trip where we ended up staying near Heathrow. Staying in the city will, at least, give me the chance to walk down my favourite shopping street, Oxford Street and explore some markets for quirky knick-knacks. During my last trip, whatever free time we had was spent holed up in the hotel room watching TV because transport into the city was simply too expensive.

When my colleague found out I may be going to the UK, he asked if he could get my help in passing something to his daughter who lived in Manchester. He was even so kind as to offer to get me Hotels in Manchester for a night so I could stay and explore the city since I’ve never been there before. He also recommended that I visit Birmingham for a change as there were lots to see and do in the town center. According to him, Hotels in Birmingham weren’t too expensive either so a night or two up there shouldn’t cost too much. Maybe I should seriously consider his suggestion! After all, I’ve never been anywhere else in the UK except for London!

Viva La Paris

I’ve only ever been to Paris once. That was when we did a quick one day trip from London on the Eurostar. It was truly a whirlwind trip and sadly, I didn’t manage to linger at beautiful sights such as the Eiffel Tower or Arc de Triumph. I didn’t even manage to fit in the Sacre Coeur, simply because it was too far and we had too little time! I would have loved to spend at least a few days in Paris to take in the sights but at that time, hotels in Paris were simply too expensive as we hadn’t discovered that cheap and affordable Paris Hotels could be found!

It is a beautiful city filled with beautiful people and sights just waiting to be explored. I’ll definitely return someday to simply sit in the beautiful parks and soak up the sun, explore the Louvre Museum, drink coffee in a charming little café down the Champs Elysee and lots more. From my last trip, I’ve learnt that Paris simply cannot be seen in a day and to enjoy this romantic city to the fullest, I’ll need to look for reasonable Hotels in Paris while I explore it to my heart’s content. Oh, and not forgetting my most important stop in Paris – the Louis Vuitton store to finally pick up my very own LV bag! :) I can’t wait to plan a trip there! Hopefully with a loved one in tow to enjoy the romantic city with me!

For French speakers or users, please go to Hôtels en Paris to get your best deals on Paris Hotels!

Make Money From Glasses

When I was recently surfing online, I was surprised to see that there’s a whole new business that’s starting to boom for Wholesale Reading Glasses. Apparently, the baby boomers today are no longer satisfied to wear fuddy duddy glasses that make them look old. They want glasses that are stylish, smart and fits into their individual styles. There’s a great business opportunity to be made there especially when you can offer original branded reading glasses at a vast discount to the other brands in the market.

How does it work? Well, great sites like CTS Wholesale Sunglasses offer Wholesale Readers at cheap wholesale prices. Because you’re buying direct from the manufacturer, you shave off the expensive middle man fees while getting the best quality sunglasses. They provide a wonderful service to their customers and do not even display their name on the box so your source will be your trade secret from customers and competitors. The glasses come professionally packed in a free display box that you can immediately display for sale. It’s a great business opportunity and something I’ll consider doing if I had the time to!

Help for Addicts

Our Government here is very active in fighting drug abuse. Anyone found trafficking drugs into the country face the harshest sentence of all – death by hanging. While their attempts to keep drugs out of the country should be lauded, those who have fallen into the drug trap shouldn’t be forgotten. Good and effective Drug Rehab centres offering a range of treatments and help for addicts should be set up all over the country to provide these addicts with a way out of the dark nightmare they are in.

It has to be remembered that not all addicts respond in the same way to treatment and one that works for an addict may probably not work for the other. Hence it is very important for trained counselors to first speak to the addict and to understand him before recommending the appropriate treatment. Addicts too can be taught certain skills such as woodwork or sewing to give them a better chance at a normal life once they are cured and to help them stay away from drugs forever. Drug abuse can be a very sad thing but with the right rehab treatment, many have fought it and stayed away from it for good.

Fight Alcoholism

Everyone knows what a terrible addiction drugs can be. What some people don’t realise is how dangerous alcohol can be as an addiction. What makes it worse is that alcohol addiction can start without the addict even realizing that they’re addicted. Just an extra glass of wine, a must-have glass of brandy at night or copious amounts of alcohol drunk at a function can start them off on the wrong foot on the road to alcoholism.

Luckily lots of rehab programmes are now available, including Alcohol Rehab therapy. Like every other therapy, the first step towards recovery starts with awareness with the alcoholic readily admitting that they have an alcoholism problem and would like to seek help. Others can only help them when they’re ready to help themselves otherwise all forms of treatment will not work if they are not open to receiving treatment. So if you know of anyone who doesn’t realise that they’re addicted to alcohol or trying to fight an alcoholism problem, do the right thing and refer them to a good rehab centre.

Help Someone

I recently read an article in the papers about some good Samaritans who have set up a drug rehab centre for recovering addicts. They provide all necessary food and lodging and part of their service includes equipping the addicts with some basic skills such as sewing or woodwork to enable them to have a proper life and job once they have recovered.

They have done such a good job that they were recently featured on a Drug Rehabs site, a site set up specifically to help addicts or their families find the best rehab centres to help those who have been caught in the dark abyss of drugs. Not all addicts respond equally to different treatments so it’s very important to find the right kind of centre for them as the wrong centre or wrong rehab approach may only cause them to turn more to drugs. It’s not an easy balance to strike and families and addicts should visit the centres before signing up to ensure that they’re comfortable with the methods and treatment used.

Relief From Debt

Recently the stock markets worldwide were hit by subprime mortgages which were caused by homeowners who had bad credit history and couldn’t meet their payments. Debt seems to be a growing concern in our world today. It’s no real surprise though with the way banks are pushing credit cards to every person without even checking their credit history. Or how banks are offering bank loans and personal loans to almost everyone who comes by with sufficient documentation. I’ve read of how people have accumulated hundreds of thousands of dollars in credit card debts and only managed to clear it over several years with good counseling and Credit Card Consolidation methods which consolidates their debts across all their cards.

Banks should be a little less ruthless in offering their loan and credit card promotions and should provide some Debt Relief counseling services for their customers, especially those who seem to have trouble managing their debt or have bad credit records. That way, the liquidity in the economy can continue to grow and it will prevent future occurrences of the subprime meltdown that happened recently.

Point and Shoot

A friend was looking to upgrade his digital camera so I accompanied him to the camera fair. There were lots of discounts and deals available everywhere and I was really surprised to see how cheap some digital cameras are nowadays. Even the prices of professional cameras like the SLR have dropped drastically as technology improves and competition intensifies. He managed to find himself a nice camera with a lot more features for a cheaper price than what he paid for his old one! The wonders of technology!

Gambling Sessions

Someone I know is a real avid gambler. He heads up to the casinos almost every weekend just to gamble. I don’t advocate gambling but he’s quite an amusing fellow. In fact, I recently heard that he bought some cheap poker tables in his home, just so he and his friends could have their little poker sessions in the comfort of their own home. Hopefully the authorities won’t come after them!

Rehab Facilities Should Be Improved

I’ve recently come across some very good drug rehab programmes in the US that help drug addicts recover from their addictions in a safe and professional manner. I think that’s one thing our country could improve in as some of the rehab facilities available are not as well managed as those in the US. It’s good to have very strict laws against drug trafficking but it’s equally good to have good rehab facilities to help those who have been affected recover.

Painful Muscles

I had a really sporty weekend with caving, white water rafting and a 5km run. It was a crazy weekend especially for someone who hardly exercises like me! So it was no surprise then that my legs ache like crazy and I have lots of trouble sitting and walking! A friend who saw me walking all funny gave me some muscle milk to drink. It’s supposed to help your muscles recover quickly from intense exercise by nourishing them. Perhaps its psychological but my legs do feel a little better now!

Smell the Coffee

Sis is a real coffee junkie so I thought one of the best gifts for her coming birthday would be a jura capresso machine. With that, she can finally have her gourmet coffees at breakfast! However, the prices were rather steep when I surfed around to look for reasonably priced coffee machines. Hopefully I find some great offers online as her birthday’s coming up!

Cheaper Cameras

I’m terrible at taking photographs so for me, digital cameras are probably one of the best things very invented! It allows me to retake photos until I’m happy with it or to force others to retake my photo until I’m happy with it! It also allows me to blog about my food or holiday easily! Hurrah for digital cameras! Plus it’s so affordable nowadays that everyone can own one. So if you want to get a good digital camera, do wait for a camera fair. You might be able to get more discounts with it.

In Need of a Vacation

We’ve all been burnt out at work recently and were discussing where our next holiday plans should be to recuperate from work stress. It’s a pity that the next public holidays that are coming up are just a few days long otherwise we could seriously consider Orlando vacations for a change! I’m sure the fun at Disneyland will be just the right antidote for work stress! But it looks like we may have to save that for a longer leave period!

Cheaper Accommodation

When my relatives last went to Florida for a holiday, they opted for accommodation in Condo Hotels instead of conventional hotels. They liked the fact that the condos could accommodate a lot more people and came with the flexibility of having your own kitchen and laundry services. It worked out a lot cheaper as well which worked very well with their budget. That’ll be an option I’ll consider if holidaying there too. The savings I make on my accommodation can go towards more shopping!

Stay Cheap in Disneyland

On my recent working trip, I was chatting to my colleague and was surprised to hear that she has been to almost all Disneylands in the world! However, she told me that her favourite was still the one in Orlando. She also told me that a trip there could actually be done quite cheaply as travelers can actually save quite a lot on their accommodation with Orlando vacation rental options instead of hotels. Her tips were really good. Maybe I should consider a trip there soon too!

Bad Skin Begone

I always envy people with silky smooth skin on their faces. It’s one of the best assets a girl can have as dewy soft and smooth skin would definitely look good with or without makeup on. Unfortunately I wasn’t so lucky as I had a bad bout of acne in my teenage years which left me with some scars. Back then, there weren’t as many new and proven products in the market to help acne suffers. If only I had a good product acne treatment such as TriClear.

TriClear is a 3-step acne system which fights acne without drying out the skin. This is really important as so many acne treatments out there dry out the skin harshly in order to control the acne. In fact, TriClear is so effective that its patented formulas for its Purifying Cleanser, Repairing Gel and Revitalizing Cream have been proven to reduce the appearance of acne, blemishes and redness within 7 days or less!* It’s simply too bad that TriClear wasn’t around when I was a teenager! Otherwise I too can have dewy soft and smooth skin.

*Subjected to terms and conditions. Please see TriClear.com for more details.

Cool Sunnies

I used to wear glasses and be terribly envious of those who could wear sunglasses. So, when I did my Lasik operation, the first thing I did was to run out and buy a nice pair of sunglasses. Now, part of my shopping and surfing involves looking for swanky sunglasses although I already have 2 pairs lounging around at home! For some reason they keep getting misplaced which gives me more excuse to buy new ones! Recently, I came across a really nice pair of Arnette Sunglasses sold by an Australian site, RedBird.com.

I do like buying things like sunglasses and sunscreen from Australian sites as Australia has one of the highest protection sunwear available in the world. Plus they’re trendy with different designs from those I get here. I was also quite interested to see that RedBird.com carries watches as well ranging from high end brands like Prada to sporty ones such as G-Shock. Their prices were really reasonable and in some cases cheaper than those in the store. Now I know where to shop for nice but reasonably priced birthday gifts!

Work from Home

When I was a student, I always envied people who were holding down high-powered executive jobs. I used to think that the power suits, business travel, laptops and funky electronic gadgets were a real symbol of my success. Now that I’m running the rat race everyday, I’m beginning to think that a home based business is definitely something I’ll like to work towards for an early retirement.

There were lots of sites out there when I surfed to get more information on this but one particular one that caught my eye was ThousandDollarProfits.com on which a Beach Bum, Ty Coughlin, promises to take the stress out of anyone trying to build a successful home business. His secret weapon is the Reverse Funnel System, through which, he promises $5,000 to $10,000 weekly for those who qualify! Amazing! That amount of money weekly is even more than what I’m earning on my monthly salary! It’s something I’ll definitely like to explore further and hopefully it’s something good and doable!

Our European Holiday

We’re planning a big trip to Europe next year and since I’m the family designated travel agent, it is always my job to plan the trips and look for the hotels. I’ve always wanted to visit Austria after falling in love with it from “The Sound of Music” and found that there were fantastic fares from Berlin direct into Vienna on a multitude of airlines, both low-cost and commercial. They all offer great value fare and special internet fares which work out best for us.

With the savings we got from the airfare, I had a bigger budget to work around the hotels to stay in. I found some great Hotels in Berlin which were right in the centre of the city for a fantastic price. They were decent hotels too and some came with the option of breakfast. I also managed to find lots of great Hotels in Vienna with a fantastic location and nice rooms. It can sometimes be a little stressful planning for these holidays but when we get on that plane and head off to our European holiday, I know it will all be worth the trouble!

For German speakers, do refer to their German site which feature great deals on Hotels in Berlin and Hotels in Vienna.

Flying is Cheaper!

I was just discussing holiday plans yesterday with my colleague. He has already started his booking and planning for a Spanish holiday at the end of the year. He told me that he was planning to travel by train from Barcelona to Madrid and was looking for Hotels in Barcelona which were near the train station so he didn’t have too far to walk. I suggested for him to fly from Barcelona to Madrid instead to save lots time, especially since he doesn’t have that many days in Spain. Flying would shave off at least 5.5 to 9 hours on the train and with daily flights that last just 1 hour 15 minutes; he’ll have so much more time to enjoy the sights and sounds of either city instead of wasting it on travel.

He was really pleased to hear that as he hadn’t considered the flight option, thinking that it was too expensive. He was very surprised to hear that flights were now so cheap and even cheaper than his train ticket! He’s now changing his booking for Hotels in Madrid from the previous one which was also near the train station to something more central in town and with his travel savings, he was able to find a better hotel to stay in. I hope he’ll have a great holiday, despite the cold weather during year end!

New Furniture

We recently redecorated our home after we moved from a bigger home to a smaller apartment. Some of our furniture was quite old so we decided to replace them. We were really torn between lots of different designs until I stumbled upon ModernLineFurniture.com while surfing. It was a great site that featured lots of modern furniture in all kinds of contemporary designs and colours to fit any house. They had some really beautiful living room and bedroom sets that I loved. Some of their designs were really unique and not something I’ve seen before in the stores here.

I found out that their prices are below any other company in the industry and they offer a flat-fee shipping cost for any order size! That worked out really well for us as we were considering getting a large living room set which would have cost us a lot in shipping costs had we bought it from another store. We did an online order through their very user-friendly website and are now waiting for its delivery. I can’t wait to see it when it arrives!

Swanky Fans

When I bought my first property, I was intending to furnish it with the most basic items for rental. However, when I proposed putting in normal ceiling fans, my mom suggested spending a little more to put in better electronic ceiling fans instead of the conventional ones. Now, I’m glad I listened to her advice as they did look much better and managed to get me a better price for my unit. Plus, at the end of the day, it’ll still belong to me and I can still use it if I choose to stay there.

Office Renovation

We recently expanded a section of our office to accommodate some new staff that had come in. While we were trying to design the office layout, we were at a loss of where to purchase the furniture from until a colleague suggested buying Bush furniture online. We checked and found that their prices were much better than those in the stores so we’ve put in our order and hopefully everything arrives and will be set up before the new staff move in.

Gorgeous Invitation Ideas

When I was recently in Singapore, I was surprised to see what nice stores they had for all kinds of things. I wandered into beautiful stores specializing in educational toys for children and even a lovely store selling nothing but party invitations! They had invitation ideas for all kinds of parties, from themed children parties to funky adult parties. They even had great DIY invitation packs which I couldn’t resist buying several even though I have no parties of my own to organize!

Now or Later?

I once read an article with great advice on how to save money. It said that if you didn’t have any children, there wasn’t much point in spending your money every month on life insurance premium payments. I did see their point. However, we can’t really predict at this age if we will have children some day. So I guess if you can find an affordable life insurance policy to purchase, it may be worth buying it now when you’re younger and the premium payments lower instead of when you’re older with more expensive premiums.

House Blinds

Recently a friend was looking for blinds for his house. When we went blind shopping, I was surprised to see that shops were selling faux wood blinds nowadays for people who wanted the beauty and functionality of wood blinds without the warping or rotting problems they had. Some of them looked as real as natural wood blinds did and were much cheaper too. My friend got some and he’s been very happy with how they’ve been keeping out the sun in his house.

Pretty Lights

I find decision making a really hard process especially with the wide range of options we have nowadays. So when it came to the process of choosing lighting for our house, I was more than happy to leave the decision making to my mom. She found some really nice quoizel lighting designs which she used for our rooms and living room. Its nicely decorated lamps do add a very nice touch to the house.

Puzzle World

There’s a shop in the mall nearby that my friend loves visiting. They are a specialized jigsaw puzzle shop which has every kind of jigsaw puzzles imaginable, from cartoon kinds for children to amazing glow-in-the-dark puzzles. Some of their puzzles look beautiful and I’m sure will be the perfect thing to brighten up any room in the house. If only I had the patience to sit and complete one!

Walking on Air

When I sometimes look back on my teenage years, it amuses me to see how teenagers can blindly follow trends without reason. I remember that when I was teenager, Air Jordan shoes were a huge trend and everyone who was hip or cool had a pair. Never mind that they cost so much money or that I was not even sporty to begin with! Now when I think back on my teenage years, I ask myself if I will spend so much on a pair of shoes now just to be ‘with it’ and glad to say, my more rational adult self wouldn’t have!

Insurance Modus Operandi

My parents know of a couple whose wife we’ve dubbed as Scary Woman because of the hard sell way she pushes her life insurance policies. They constantly invite their potential clients up to Penang for holidays and will play the perfect host by taking them out for meals and driving them around. The clincher comes at the end of the trip when Scary Woman would whip out her insurance policy to get them to sign on the dotted line! What a modus operandi but it seems to work because that couple is rolling in money!

Don't Get Caught

Are you afraid of getting caught by police radar guns? Well, now you don’t have to. Simply purchase and mount a radar detector on your car and you’ll be able to detect police radars from far away so you’ll have ample time to slow down your car speed. There are lots on the market but do go with the best radar detector available to get the best response out of it. Cheap ones will not do the job as well and you’ll be frustrated when you’re still getting speeding tickets despite having your radar detector installed. So do opt for the best around!

Keep Out The Sun

My mom doesn’t like the sun which isn’t easy to hide away from when we’re living in a tropical country. So what she does is try to block away as much of the sun’s rays as possible using wood blinds in the porch in our house back in our hometown. They actually do a pretty good job in keeping out the heat and glare of the sun while letting in some breeze through the wooden pieces so the house remains cool even under the midday sun. Plus, they look good too and give the house a nice country look!

Saving money while shopping online

This is a site about saving money. We all could do with some extra cash, or to find ways to stretch our dollar without having to dig in the bargain bins. We all want to wear nice clothes and use branded makeup and skincare, without having to skip a few meals for it. Well, here’s a tip.

Shop online.

What? I hear you cry. How can shopping online save you more money than shopping in the store? Well, if you shop in the stores, you get discounts only at certain times of the year when the stores hold their clearance sales.

When you shop online, you are open to the world of coupon codes. A coupon code is a code that you input at checkout. These codes give you discounts, free shipping, free gifts or free samples, depending on the nature of the code.

Where can I get these coupon codes? You ask. Simple. Here’s a site I found that gives out information on free online coupons. Deal Locker. They have thousands of coupon codes from beauty deals to clothing codes and even food deals. Deal Locker’s codes are user rated which means that you get codes that actually work. You don’t get expired codes which is something that happens sometimes.

Here’s some brands available at Deal Locker. For the women, eLuxury coupons for the luxury items, or Figleaves coupons for lingerie and sleepwear. For the men, there are electronic coupons e.g. Dell deals. You basically get something for everyone, but since shopping is mostly the women’s domain, its only expected that most of the coupons are tailored for women’s stores.

There are also some ebay deals, for discounted gift cards and coupons. These are for sale, but they are put in a separate category. If you use Firefox to browse you can get a bookmarklet to get one click access to coupons for any page. I suppose if you are browing Benefit Cosmetics (as I always do) then you could click on it and know exactly what coupons or codes you can use for your purchase.

So, this is how you can save money while shopping online!

Voice Over Talents

I always listen to the radio on my drive to and fro work and used to wonder how they found the people who shared their voices over the radio. Little did I know that it was actually an industry in its own right and for some, it was actually a job! I learnt more about voice over talent when I came across an article written by Don Capone about how the internet has changed this industry.

Using the internet, these voice over talents can now work from home, narrating their scripts in the comfort of their own home studios. They then send their scripts via email, cd downloads or in some cases, the director will actually call in over a dedicated ISDN voice talent phone line to record their narratives. That article was a really interesting read as I never realized there was so much involved in voice talent recording and so many categories one could participate in. I wonder if my voice would qualify!

Stop Drugs

Do you know of anyone struggling with a drug addiction problem? If you do, do recommend them to a good drug rehab programme. Sometimes addicts do wish to come out of the dark world they’ve fallen prey to but simply don’t know how to where to turn to. So help them help themselves by recommending or registering them with a good rehab programme. It’s the best gift you can give them.

Hotel Booking Made Easy

I've been doing a lot of travel for work recently and it's a truly exhausting process! Gone are the glamour of flights and swanky hotels. Sometimes all I want is to come home to my own bed. Luckily in the age of internet and technology, our hotel booking and coordination has been made so much easier with Easy To Book.
It makes it also very useful and accessible to us especially since our flight plans are always last minute. So booking with them allows us to still access the best rates and sometimes even better rates than special ones due to our last minute booking. We've used Easy to Book for our recent trips to London, Rome and Dublin and have been very happy with the rates we got. Plus we always arrive assured that we have our rooms ready. My boss was so happy with it that he's planning to use this for his next trip to New York too. Thank goodness for great sites such as this!

Road Rage

A friend recently got into some trouble when she was driving her car on the freeway. Someone knocked into her from the back and when she got down to check her car, he started to attack her! How scary! Luckily for her she managed to get his license number before he fled when some other passengers rushed to her aid. She filed her police report and is now pursuing further litigation with a famous Raleigh personal injury lawyer who specializes in these sort of cases. I’m sure she’ll definitely win her case and I hope that mad man would be put behind bars very soon.

Dental Assistant Courses

I recently had a lot of trouble with my gums and had to see my regular dentist. He diagnosed it as a gum infection and got to work cleaning it out. Later, while waiting to collect my medication, I chatted to his assistant and found out that she used to study in an online university. Surprised, I asked her how she got to know about it and was told that she had researched GuidetoHealthcareSchools.com to find out more when she was nearing the completion of her studies.

It’s a fantastic site that gives a list of universities running suitable courses for people who wish to be a dental assistant. It ranks the universities by their location and even gives a list of suitable accredited online universities students can pursue their course with. According to her, it was really easy to find a school as they had a powerful search featurewhich allowed prospective students to search based on a state or course of their choice. I left the dental clinic, full of admiration for her determinance and resolveness to complete a course of her choice.

ID Ideas

I went to view a show house nearby recently and was very amazed at how well the interior designer had made maximum usage of the small rooms available. Although the back rooms were tiny, they managed to fit in two bunk beds suitable for a children’s room. The show house was really very nice and although it doesn’t fall within my budget range, it was a great place to get interior designer ideas!

Hawaiian Condos

One of my aunts decided to take her entire family to Hawaii when she last got her bonus. This was complete with her maids to babysit her children! What lucky maids! Since her family group was quite large, she asked for my help in booking suitable accommodation for her. I found a great site, Hawaiian Beach Rentals which had a whole range of accommodation options for every kind of traveler. On their site, they had lots of lovely Maui condos which was simply perfect for a family like my aunt’s. They came with self-equipped kitchens so they could opt for a home cooked dinner if they were tired of eating in restaurants and had ample room for everyone, including the maids. It also faced the sea so I’m sure that my cousins, who simply love the beach, would love this place.

My aunt was really happy with the choices there and it didn’t take her long to sign up with Hawaiian Beach Rentals, one of the best Hawaii travel sites around. I’m sure she’ll have a fantastic holiday!

They found a whole range of accommodations to suit their choices at Hawaiian Beach Rentals. They were truly spoilt for choice with so many different kinds of condominiums, homes and hotel rooms to choose from. In the end, because there was a group of them, they opted for a multi-room condo which worked out pretty affordable when the cost was split between them.

They also liked how Hawaiian Beach Rental had lots of Hawaii vacation info on their travel blog which was very useful in helping them plan their perfect beach holiday. I hope they have a great time and look forward to seeing them coming back beautifully tanned with great stories to tell!

Hawaiian Hideaway

I have been traveling a lot for work recently and have been reading lots of travel magazines inflight while trying to pass time. On one of my recent trips, the magazine I was reading did a wonderful feature on Hawaii vacations. Hawaii has always been a destination on my must see list. However, I used to think that it was simply too expensive a destination to consider right now. Reading that article changed my mind on that a little though. According to them, fantastic accommodation options could be found at Hawaiian Beach Rentals at very affordable prices. That included a whole range of accommodation choices whether big chain hotel rooms, private homes, secluded villas or beachfront condos.

I was honestly quite interested to know that as it simply meant that Hawaii was now a lot more affordable than I originally thought it to be! The article also recommended the travel blog at Hawaiian Beach Rentals for a host of Hawaiian tourist info. Perhaps I’ve just found a new hideaway to head to on my next vacation!

Stay in Kihei

A friend has been planning a trip to Hawaii for some time now with his frequent flyer points. He used to travel a lot for business and finally managed to accumulate enough points to earn him a round trip to Hawaii. He did some research online and found that the Kihei area came highly recommended. Accommodation, however, worked out pretty expensive. That was until I told him to check out the great Kihei homes options at Hawaiian Beach Travel.

There’s a whole host of homes catering to every traveler at affordable prices. Each available option comes with photographs and descriptions of the properties so travelers can make the right choices in booking their Kihei homes. He was also very pleased to also find a host of Hawaii vacation information on that site through their travel blog. I hope he’ll have a fantastic holiday there and brings me back something nice! Heh…I wouldn’t mind a Kahuna!

Where to Stay in Hawaii

A couple I know have recently returned from their holiday. I met up with them for dinner last week and was really pleased to see that they had brought with them their holiday photographs. It looked like they had a fantastic time there. The wife was quite surprised when I expressed that it must have been quite an expensive holiday. She laughed and told me that it was actually a lot less expensive than what people thought. They had stayed at a beautiful resort called Hanalei bay resort which they got at a fantastic price with Hawaiian Beach Rentals. That, she told me, gave them great savings on their holiday and they had a wonderful time on the beautiful and luxurious resort.

She told me to check out the travel blog at Hawaiian Beach Rentals for more Hawaii travel information if I was interested. It features reviews from real life travelers who are very honest about giving positive and negative reviews. Perhaps it’s somewhere I could consider for my next vacation destination!

Travel Hawaii

I used to wonder why people called Hawaii an island paradise when we had pretty beautiful islands here in South East Asia too. That was until I recently watched a travel Hawaii television programme promoting this tropical island. The footage of the lush forests, sandy beaches and crystal clear azure waters were simply breathtaking. So were the exciting activities that one could choose to indulge in while on holiday there, from diving to simply bumming on the beach.

There were lots of great sites that were recommended for people wishing to seek more Hawaiian travel info. Some of it come with reviews and experiences from real-life travelers and include very useful tips on the best restaurants and the most affordable accommodation to be found on this island paradise. I have to admit that I was very sorely tempted by the beautiful sights this island had to offer! Reading the reviews and experiences only tempted me further and I hope to someday visit it to experience it for myself.

Cheap Hawaiian Holidays

I was on the flight out to Beijing for work earlier. I can’t really sleep on short flights so I grabbed all magazines that were available in the aircraft and while flipping through them, a gorgeous advertisement for trips to Hawaii leapt out at me. It featured a bikini-clad girl with a beautiful tanned body lying on white sandy beaches next to the bluest ocean I’d ever seen! It was so captivating and just what I needed after my recent exhausting travel schedules!

The magazine featured great Hawaii vacation reviews from travelers who head there again and again, simply because of the beauty of the island and because they have such great accommodation options that are affordable for everyone. There were fantastic reviews on all kinds of accommodations, ranging from chalets to luxury hotels and even isolated villas for honeymooning couples. I made sure I took a copy of that magazine down with me to keep for future reference. Perhaps my frequent flier points might be able to buy me a ticket to Hawaii! Supplement that with the affordable accommodation options and I’ll be that girl on the beach, sans the toned body! :P

Simplify Your Database

A previous company I worked for used to rely heavily on telemarketing services to market their products. My boss found that it was one of the best ways to reach our clients and to get more business from them. Part of our jobs was to compile huge and long mailing lists in Microsoft Excel of our clients which could be a rather arduous task and sometimes our spreadsheets would run into the hundreds which made retrieving data quite confusing. Not only that, it took some time to train new colleagues who came in and there was always a chance of error in updating names, addresses or personal details.

Thank goodness help came in the form of a ground breaking Mailing List database created by Martin Worldwide. They are one of the largest and most successful mailing list providers in the US and even service Fortune 1000 clients. Currently, they have compiled a database of over 290 million customers over 13 million US business and will guarantee their data integrity in writing. I must say that our work definitely got much easier with the introduction of Martin Worldwide!
